I'm a Ram, yes I am...

Here is a good article about Livestock for Survival.

Personally, I don't really see me moving these animals from a primary location to a retreat location. I would think it be more preferable to have them at your retreat location if at all possible.

    kinder goats and scottish highlands cattle. egglayin hens is always good. i liked the author's touch about hogs being able to dispose of any carcasses that you or your family cannot eat. id also add bobwhites (quail) to the livestock. easy to raise in a small pen, highly prolific, single serving meals, eggs too if need be. also llamas make wool and are great for guard duty/alarm systems.
